Last weekend, we welcomed 8 parent–child duos to our “Family Play Lab: Strong as One, Playful at Heart” Play Therapy Workshop — a cosy, heartfelt afternoon designed to strengthen bonds through creativity, communication, and play.

The workshop began with a warm and deeply meaningful activity: each parent and child created a clay symbol of their family, expressing what their home and relationships mean to them. Through guided discussions, families explored their strengths, weaknesses, core values, and the emotional foundations that hold them together.

Using different colours of clay, each duo created a unique artwork, taking turns to share the meaning behind their creation. This simple yet powerful exercise encouraged active listening, mutual respect, empathy, and appreciation.

One of the highlights was the “Family Open House Practice”, where families presented their values to one another. Family values then became a “legacy” passed from one duo to the next — symbolising the idea that every family has wisdom worth sharing.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ms. Marina Lim and the dedicated therapists from Creative Play Lab Pte Ltd, as well as the Mental Health Support Group of Central Christian Church, for partnering with us in delivering this meaningful experience.

Parents shared that they left the session feeling more connected, more confident in using play as a tool, and more comfortable expressing themselves and supporting their children emotionally.
A beautiful reminder that strengthening families doesn’t always require big moments — sometimes, all it takes is a little clay, a little creativity, and a lot of heart. 💛
