Youths Befriend Chronically-Ill Children
HOPE worldwide (Singapore) organized a befriending session with chronically ill children from Club Rainbow on 17 March 2016. About 50 mainstream students and at-risk youth beneficiaries of HOPE worldwide Singapore’s Skill Empowerment initiative volunteered for the event.
Along with the befriending session, the students also hoped to understand the needs of the Club Rainbow children and develop apps that could benefit society as well. After the students’ engagement with the children, staff of HOPEwwS then treated the children together with 28 of their family members to a movie outing.
“It was an extremely enriching experience and it definitely benefited both the volunteers and the families from Club Rainbow. The volunteers were truly impacted to learn how the families cope with their challenges,” said Anne Tan, Community Outreach Manager.
