Youth Volunteers Befriend Chronically-Ill Children

On 14 March, 2017, HOPE worldwide Singapore organised a befriending session with 31 chronically ill children from Club Rainbow together with 35 youth volunteers.

The youth volunteers also hoped to understand the needs of the children and develop apps that could benefit them as well. Before the befriending session, HOPEwwS staff brought the children to a movie outing together with 55 of their family members.

One of the volunteers, Patrick (not his real name), 18, said: “I felt that the children should live a better life and they don’t deserve to live in this condition. I am very fortunate that i am able-bodied and will want to do more volunteering in future.”

Another volunteer, Samuel, 25, shared: “I had fun volunteering, and learnt more about the beneficiaries. I really enjoyed it very much.”IMG_1125 Raising Hands Q&A IMG_1128 Excited Kid IMG_1137 Volunteers Q&A IMG_1178 children & families IMG_1214 Drawing with kids IMG_1224 drawing with kids IMG_1233 Interacting with kid IMG_1250 Kid with volunteers IMG_1254 Grp Pic
