SAP Skill Empowerment beneficiaries bag second place at design and marketing competition
A team of teenage girls who are among the beneficiaries of the SAP Skill Empowerment Programme won second place at the National Design and Marketing Competition (NDMC), held on 5-6 September 2017, Meeting Point at Ayer Rajah Crescent and organised by DesignLab.
The teenage girls presented the concept “Tribot”, a vacuum flask with two separate compartments for drinks and a small storage at the bottom to store small items like medicine. The other teams from Hong Kah Secondary School won first and third place, respectively.
Angel, 15, said: The programme was a great experience and a lot of great things learnt.
Catherine, 13, shared: It was a great opportunity for us to actually learn how to speak in front of the audience.”
The competition was the culmination of the six-month long youth entrepreneurship programme conducted by Designlab. A total of 28 youths were sponsored by SAP to attend the entrepreneurship programme, which also aims to build their self-confidence and presentation skills.
“All the ideas were so encouraging and I love it, this is the things we live for, ” said Ms Kathleen Muller, Head of Advanced Enterprise Anaytics, Southeast Asia, SAP Lab.
