TESTIMONIALS about
MOVIE THERAPYTM
 |
| |
|
|

| HOPE worldwide (Singapore) Counsellor,
Mrs Karen McDonald Louis conducting a Movie TherapyTM Lunchtime
Talk entitled “Take Care of Me!” at GlaxoSmithKline.
|
|
|
The movie therapy session was an innovative
experience, the snippets of movies that were shown coupled
with the speakers' real-life encounters, helped our staff
realise the importance of balancing work and family plus the
need to bring stress to manageable levels.
Your speakers gave good presentations and captivated
their audience with their wit and humour. Everyone left your
sessions feeling invigorated and refreshed ready to continue
their days' work with the knowledge of how to keep a positive
outlook towards whatever problems that may lie ahead.

| To “free” the youths
from the perils of smoking and to help them adopt a healthy
lifestyle, Mr Mok Soh Har (left in picture), Head/Student
Management, Student & Academic Services Division,
ITE College West, arranged for five campuses of ITE College
West to benefit from Movie TherapyTM on Smoking Cessation
conducted by Mrs Patrice Lee (right in picture) from HOPE
worldwide (Singapore). |
|
|
It was a pleasure for College West to work
with HOPE worldwide (Singapore) for our series of Smoking
Cessation talks to our students at all the 5 campuses in conjunction
with our 'Stub It Out' programme. This programme is a collaborative
effort between Health Promotion Board and ITE College West.
From the feedback of our staff and students,
the Movie TherapyTM inspired talks were effective and impactful.
The sessions were different from the normal anti-smoking talks
delivered previously by various other organisations. It has
helped to remove the monotony which is normally associated
with such talks.
As the target audience is mainly for youths, the clever use
of the youth-oriented audio movie clips enabled the anti-smoking
messages to be put across more effectively.
I would also like to commend all your articulate speakers
for presenting the talk in a very interesting and engaging
manner. From the students' evaluation and perspectives, they
have all enjoyed the sessions and the message that smoking
is harmful and addictive has perpetuated in their memory.

| First and wonderful experience
to our staff in EGS. We enjoyed the new way of coping with stress
through watching movies, which is an attractive and popular
media for all.Watching movie, involving self and analyzing the
situation in different roles, gives a better feeling of the
stressful people and/or the situations. We appreciate the concept
developed by HOPE worldwide (Singapore) to make everyone realize
the bad effects of hot temperament and to inculcate good work
culture.
