HOPE worldwide
Singapore:
A Volunteer Host Organisation of Singapore Management University
 |
|
From August, 2006,
HOPE worldwide Singapore has become a Volunteer Host Organisation
(VHOs) of Singapore Management University (SMU).
“On behalf of HOPE worldwide Singapore, I want to
express our enthusiasm for this partnership. SMU shares
a common belief with HOPE worldwide Singapore: that community
service plays an important part in helping our youth become
responsible global citizens who give back to the world around
them. This is demonstrated by SMU’s mandatory undergraduate
core curriculum requirement of 80-hour community service.”

A quote from one of the student leaders of the “Add
Color to My World” programme in the Philippines:
“Our expedition to Philippines was a totally
new experience for us. Coming from a sheltered environment, most
of us never really understood the meaning of living in any condition
lesser than Singapore. Initially, we were overwhelmed by what we
saw and wondered if our project could help the children. But as
time passed, we could see the children getting more excited with
our programs and seeing the smiles on their faces made us glad that
we managed to add colour to their world.”
